Christmas is the fulfillment of hundreds of years of prophetic predictions about the coming of the Messiah who would change the world. God’s people waited for a Savior who would come to rescue and restore a broken creation. They held onto hope that God would stay true to His promise. And then with great joy, they celebrated the Savior’s birth.
“Then the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.'” Luke 2:10-11
The world would now know the peace of God, who took on flesh and lived among us. He cared for everyone He encountered and provided forgiveness for our sin. As a loving servant He made it possible for us to be saved from hell and to be called children of God.
Behold, our Savior is born, and invites you to fully welcome Him into your life. The instruction from the angel in Luke 2:10-11 was to “behold” the Savior’s birth. Behold means to pay attention! Behold: A Savior Is Born Teaching Series will help you to pay attention to five gifts from the Savior’s birth and experience a very merry Christmas.
Pastor Steve Reynolds shares this personal invitation to be a part of the Behold: A Savior Is Born sermon series.
